On Thursday, December 10, Mauricio Macri took office as the new President of Argentina. Gabriela Michetti began her mandate as Vicepresident of Argentina.
Both paid the constitutional oath before the Legislative Assembly at the Palace of Congress. Subsequently, the new President of Argentina received the attributes of command -the presidential sash and the baton of command- at the Casa Rosada in the presence of heads of state and delegations from foreign countries specially invited for the occasion, as well as various national and provincial authorities.
On behalf of the Government of Finland the inauguration of the new Argentine president was attended by Secretary of State Peter Stenlund of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
